we have this cool feature that may not be very well known...

if you go to me.deviantart.com you will land on the profile page of the account you're currently logged into.
(if you aren't logged into any account, to our frontpage you go)

it even works with any profile sub-page, like me.deviantart.com/journal/ or .../prints/ or .../gallery/ etc. which will direct the clicker to their own journal or store or gallery.

your newest deviation? me.deviantart.com/latest/

neat and simple, right? we originally implemented that to make it easier for us to link deviants to their own pages in our FAQs, but of course anyone can use it.

sadly it can be and is being abused, too.
you may have seen those stupid "worst artist on deviantart [link]" signatures, which upon clicking the link take you to your own profile.
while you may be lead to believe that you are being targeted by such half-witted prankster, simply hovering over that link and taking a glance at your browser status bar will show you that it's just the generic me.deviantart.com link and not actually your profile link.

unfortunately a lot of people who fall victim to this prank don't realize its generic nature and get upset and end up contacting us, just to be told what i just wrote, or similar.
calling someone a bad or the worst artist does not violate any of our policies.

so, don't be a lame bandwagon prankster, and on the other hand, inspect the links you click on that strike you in a bad way.
heck, you could even make a counter signature that generically links to the best artist on devianart, or something similarly positive.
generally speaking, don't let such minor bullshit get under your skin and ruin your day, or just a minute of your time, as that would just encourage the trolls.

have a nice weekend.
